Becoming a part of The Arc's movement takes on many forms, and your commitment to helping us create opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities can be expressed in many ways.

Make a Difference

The Arc has made significant progress over our 60-year history and with your help we can do more. The Arc of Story County provides very unique and very important opportunities that enhance personal growth and community involvement. Help us to:  

• Promote the rights of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities so that they have access to the supports and services they need to live in their family homes, to succeed in school, and to engage in all childhood experiences.
• Protect and strengthen the opportunities that adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities have to lead full and independent lives, free from poverty and with ready access to whatever services and supports they need.
• Promote the respect and acceptance that people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as equal members of society, deserve from the general public.

  

Become a Member

By joining The Arc of Story County you join a network of more than 140,000 members and 730 affiliated chapters across the country. You become connected to the largest grassroots movement to protect the rights of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  Members work together to ensure that sufficient resources are available to meet the needs of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in every community in our nation.

When you become a member of The Arc of Story County you automatically become a member of The Arc of Iowa and The Arc of the United States. You will receive a quarterly "Empower" newsletter from The Arc of The United States sharing important updates and ways you can become more involved.

Locally you will become connected with other members through events and opportunities presented to members of The Arc of Story County.

Annual membership (January through December) is $30 for Individuals and $50 for Families and Organizations. 

Please begin to make a difference in The Arc, those around you, and your life by filling out the member registration form and returning it to The Arc.
